Job Description

                                                      CHIEF ENGINEER/DESIGNATED DUTY ENGINEER

 

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. is looking for a "hands-on" licensed duty engineer "Unlimited" for a small freight ship. The individual assigned to this position will be familiar with Caterpillar 3412's and 50 cycle Caterpillar generators. Paid travel to and from vessel.  Work schedule will  consist of rotating trips and shore side maintenance.

Requirements

  • USCG License with Chief Engineer of any horsepower or Designated Duty Engineer of any horsepower (unlimited waters)
  • STCW Basic Training
  • STCW Medical Certificate
  • Engine Room Officers in Charge of an Engineering Watch - STCW III/1
  • Chief Engineer - STCW III/2
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft - STCW IV/1 (Lifeboatman)
  • Advanced Firefighting - STCW VI/3
  • Medical First Aid - STCW VI/4
  • Security Awareness - STCW VI/6
  • TWIC
  • Passport
  • Valid Driver's License
  • International Travel Vaccine Record
  • Must be able to travel 30 to 60 days a trip
  • Detailed Work History
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of ocean sailing experience
  • Valid work references
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of sea service with a minimum of 2 years as Chief Engineer
  • Must have experience with Safety Management systems
